Compliance Certification is the review and analysis of the institution to ensure compliance with the Core Requirements (12) and Comprehensive Standards (60) headed by a small group of people called the Compliance Certification Team. The first dimension described in the section on Principles of Accreditation is INTEGRITY, followed by commitment to quality enhancement. SACS states that integrity is the "core value" that functions as the "basic social contract." Comments regarding integrity at all of the meetings and conferences emphasized the need for data to be correct - that is a fundamental assumption. Charge of Comprehensive Certification Team The charge of the Compliance Certification Team is to coordinate the Compliance Certification effort and make specific assignments to staff and faculty, not on the Compliance Team, who have been identified as having responsibility for a particular area addressed in a specific Core Requirement or Comprehensive Standard. It is the responsibility of the Compliance Certification Team to identify the required supporting documents and evidence, and conduct analysis of compliance to ascertain the extent of compliance with each Core Requirement and Comprehensive Standard. Additionally, the team is responsible for certifying the integrity and quality of the data and information. The final step in preparing the Compliance Certification is the approval and sign-off on the report of each Core Requirement and Comprehensive Standard. |
