The University of Central Florida is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award baccalaureate, master's and doctorate degrees. UCF was initially accredited in 1970, was last reaffirmed in 1995 as a Level 5 institution (3 or fewer doctoral degrees), and is scheduled for its next reaffirmation in December 2006 as a Level 6 institution (4 or more doctoral degrees). In the previous reaffirmation visit, UCF was reviewed in accordance with the Criteria for Accreditation that included a significant number of "must" statements.
