Welcome to the University of Central Florida’s SACS Reaffirmation Web site. The purpose of this site is to present and demonstrate the efforts that UCF is undertaking to prepare for reaffirmation of accreditation in 2006 by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

SACS is recognized as the regional accrediting body for higher institutions (those awarding associate, baccalaureate, master's, or doctoral degrees) in the southern states (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas) and Latin America.

This site was developed as part of the effort of preparing for the upcoming SACS reaffirmation. It serves several purposes including:

1) to highlight the Principles of Accreditation and provide a summary of changes and differences in the process since UCF's last reaffirmation in 1995;

2) to identify and outline the steps of the reaffirmation process, and provide a centralized location of all information related to the reaffirmation process; and

3) to allow staff and faculty to contribute to the reaffirmation process by providing feedback and advice.

SACS COC Reaffirmation Reference Section: There have been significant changes to the philosophy and format of the reaffirmation process since UCF's last reaffirmation in 1995. The new Principles of Accreditation and the reaffirmation process are highlighted in this section.

UCF's Reaffirmation Process Section: UCF is currently in the process of preparing for reaffirmation of accreditation. Information on the efforts and activities of this process are described in this section, including the review and documentation of Faculty Qualifications.

UCF's Compliance Certification Section: A fundamental element of reaffirmation is that an institution submit a Compliance Certification document, attesting to the university's compliance with specific requirements. All components pertaining to Compliance Certification are included in this section.
